The Village of Antioch is currently accepting resumes and letters of interest to fill 1 vacancy for Police Pension Board Member . Applicants must reside within the corporate limits of the Village, and are desired to have a basic understanding of 40 ILCS 5/3 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes. One member shall be appointed for a un expired term of 1 year, and 1 full-term of 2 years, and must be able to attend quarterly meetings as scheduled. Typically meetings are scheduled the third Tuesday in January, April, July and October at 3:30 pm, but may be rescheduled due to other meeting conflicts. Applicants must reside within the Village of Antioch, or within 1.5 miles contiguous to the corporate limits and not included in another municipality. The Planning & Zoning Board serves as a recommending body to the Village Board and considers all new zoning, development, and long-term planning for the Village. Those serving shall be appointed for a term of 3 years, and must be able to attend monthly meetings as scheduled. Typically meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. The Village Board has extended the “ Small Business Grant ” program to a new deadline of May 28, 2021.. Applications are now being accepted for small business grants up to $5,000.00. The new criteria and applications can be found by clicking here . Businesses that have gross sales of $500,000.00 or less and have been impacted by the Covid-19 crisis may qualify. Services and professional offices do not qualify for this program.
The Village of Antioch will be doing hydrant flushing beginning April 11, 2021. Our water department flushes hydrants to ensure they are functioning properly. Flushing may cause your water to become discolored. It is advised by our water department to run your water for a few minutes before use. This is especially important to remember before doing your laundry. Flushing should last approximately two weeks. Signs will be posted in your area when flushing occurs, but the tentative schedule is as follows: April 11th – Rte. 173 near body craft, Auto zone / Best Western, Buena Terrace, Windsor Terrace, Margate, and South Rte 83 near Johnny’s Chophouse. Overview: The Village of Antioch is currently seeking two Seasonal Employees for the Public Works Department. The position duties include, but are not limited to mowing grass, light landscaping, weeding, trimming, raking and garbage/debris removal. May complete additional related duties as assigned. The position reports to the Director of Public Works. Qualifications: Some experience performing tasks related to the position along with the ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions. Physical ability to perform manual labor, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel and/or lift up to 40 lbs. Hours as scheduled with the ability to work a flexible schedule and be readily available during the summer months. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
