The Canadian National Railroad to Close for Emergency Repairs to Railroad Crossing Antioch, IL-The Canadian National Railroad has informed the Lake County Division of Transportation it will be closing the railroad crossing on North Avenue for emergency repairs. The closure of the crossing will begin at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 and is scheduled to reopen late afternoon on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Detour Route: The signed detour route for this closure will be Illinois Route 83, to Illinois Route 173, to Deep Lake Road. Local traffic will be allowed from Illinois Route 83 to the crossing and from the crossing to Deep Lake Road.

Please join the Village of Antioch and Civic Artworks in providing us with your thoughts and input on the “ Draft Zoning Ordinance ” that is working its way through the public process. Your voice is critical in shaping the Village’s future. Along with the recently adopted Comprehensive Plan, the proposed “Zoning Ordinance” will have a tremendous impact on how the Village will physically develop over the next twenty years or so. Additionally, critical questions relating to land uses, lot sizes, setbacks, parking, nonconforming uses are all addressed in this important document and we seek your input as residents of the Village. The Village, through Civic Artworks, has created a “crowd sourcing webpage” which invites the public to provide us with their input on a number of critically important questions. The Village of Antioch, Illinois, requests a written proposal to provide municipal Engineering and Consulting Services at the Village’s Wastewater Treatment Facility. The Village is seeking recommendations and cost estimates regarding equipment upgrades to transfer the bio-solids from a 2-meter belt filter press to the storage barn. Then, the Village is exploring in generating a Class A Bio-Solids. Finally, an assessment of the gravity thickener process. Five bound copies of a written response to this request for qualifications must be submitted to the Village of Antioch on or before 5:00 P.M., August 30th, 2019.
