Applications are now available below or at the Antioch Parks Office for the 2019 Miss, Jr. Miss and Little Miss Pageants. The deadline to enter the pageant will be Friday, April 12, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. The pageant will take place on Saturday, June 15th at the Antioch High School Auditorium at 4:00 p.m. This year the winner of the Miss Antioch title will receive a prize package from area businesses and scholarship money to the college of her choice. She will be awarded the scholarship money at the end of her reign. “Last year we were able to collect $3,000 in scholarship money which will was awarded to Miss Antioch 2017, Jessica Lamberty. Letters were sent to area businesses and organizations for donations again this year. If anyone is interested in donating towards the scholarship fund or to the prize package, they should call Toni Galster at the Parks Office at 847-395-2160. “We are thrilled to be able to offer this to our queen again this year and believe that it will help some lucky young lady fulfill her dreams of college and also attract intelligent and goal oriented young women to our pageant to represent Antioch in the best way possible. Miss Antioch applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 21. The Jr. Miss Pageant is for girls ages 10 – 15. Little Miss Antioch is offered for girls ages 6 – 9. INVITATION TO BID PROVIDE LAWN MOWING AND MAINTENANCE OF VILLAGE PROPERTIES The Village of Antioch, an Illinois municipal corporation (the “Village”), is seeking bids from qualified landscape contractors to perform lawn mowing, weeding, and miscellaneous maintenance of Village-owned or maintained properties. Bids will be publically opened and read aloud at Village of Antioch Village Hall on February 27, 2019 at 10:00am. All bids should be addressed to: Village of Antioch Re: (vender name) Bid for Lawn mowing and maintenance Attention: Lori Romine Village Clerk 874 Main St. Antioch, IL 60002 Bid packets are available by email request to lromine@antioch.il.gov and at the Antioch Village Hall, 874 Main Street Antioch, IL 60002. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond from a company or a cashier’s check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid and made payable to the client address. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the bid opening date without the consent of the Village. Checks or drafts of unsuccessful bidders will be returned as soon as possible after opening and checking the bids. This contract is not subject to payment of Prevailing Wages. Each contractor is to submit their bid as indicated in the Specifications. Faxed or Emailed bids will not be accepted. The Village reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in bidding. Award of Contract: The Village of Antioch Board of Trustees will make the final award of the bid or contract.

The Village of Antioch’s Department of Parks & Recreation is looking forward to a bright Spring Day to hold the annual Easter Parade on Saturday, April 20, 2019. There is no entry fee and we encourage you to participate. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. and line up will take place between 9:30 and 10:15 a.m. on Skidmore Dr. The parade will head north on Main street to Williams Street. We will be using Williams Park for the Easter Egg Hunt which follows the parade, so there will be no parking there. Please arrange for parade participants to be picked-up back at the parking lot on Skidmore. The hunt will be limited to the first 500 children to register. Please register at the parks office before the event. The fee is $3.00 per child, ages 1-10. Please make sure your child does not take more than 10 eggs so that we can make sure to have enough for everyone. This is a rain or shine event. Back this year, Mother & Son Bowling Date Night is scheduled for Sunday, March 3, 2019. Participants may choose two difference event times; 11:30 am or 1:30 pm at Antioch Bowling Lanes. Ticket holders will enjoy Cosmic Bowling, shoe rental, a hot dog, chips, water, a memorable photo and a chance to win one of several raffle prizes. Bumper bowling will be available for younger children. Tickets are $15.00 per person and are available online at https://secure.rec1.com/IL/village-of-antioch/catalog .
