Groot Village of Antioch Clean‐Up Day May 16, 2019 Village of Antioch Spring Clean‐up day will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019. This service only applies to addresses located within the Village limits included in the Groot contract and does not include Antioch Township or Unincorporated Antioch areas. Items must be curbside by 6:00 am and should be broken down so that any one person can handle the item and lift it into a truck. Please see below for the list of acceptable and non‐acceptable items: Acceptable Items: Household debris from basement, toys, boxes, old clothing. Couches, chairs, desks, outdoor furniture, bars and stools, dressers, beds, tables. Outdoor entertainment items, charcoal grills, patio furniture, old pool tools, kids pools and umbrellas. Yard equipment, tools, lawn mowers if drained, snow blowers if drained, leaf blowers if drained. Seasonal items, camping gear, boating equipment, decorations, sports equipment, bikes and winter gear. Large appliances such as freezers, refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers, etc. Microwaves and small household appliances. Non‐Acceptable Items: Yard waste, including grass clippings, leaves, brush and tree material. Household refuse, garbage. Rocks, concrete, dirt, sod and construction materials including roofing materials and lumber. Electronic equipment; televisions, computers/accessories, monitors, keyboards, scanners, printers, cellular phones, stereos, portable music players, alkaline and rechargeable batteries, holiday lights, CD players, DVD players, VCR’s, cameras, video games, telephones, fax machines, and shredders. Any type of metal post, pipe, swing set, antenna, etc. Tires, Automobile Batteries, old gasoline, antifreeze, used motor oil, gas tanks, Cans of paint, paint thinners, lawn or pool chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, solvents, cleaning products, aerosol paints, propane tanks, drain cleaners, Asbestos Any items that could be recycled in the curbside recycling program.
Due to the multiple wind storms recently experienced in the Village of Antioch, Public Works crews will be out chipping broken limbs beginning March 18, 2019. Limbs should be placed curbside and must be less than 5 feet in length and no larger than 6 inches in diameter. Anything larger will not be accepted. This service ends April 1st. The Village of Antioch will be holding its Mother Daughter Bingo Luncheon on Sunday, April 28th. There will be 3 different seating to choose from, 12:00 pm, 2:30 pm. Or 5:00 pm This will be a unique Antioch event bringing ladies together for a wonderful afternoon. Entertainment will feature Bingo and a buffet style lunch will provided by Antioch Rosatis Pizza. This year’s event will take place at Antioch Senior Center located at 817 Holbek Drive, Antioch. Tickets are on sale starting Thursday, March 4, 2019 at the Village of Antioch’s Parks and Recreation Department (806 Holbek Dr.). Cost is $15.00 per person and can also be purchased online at www.antioch.il.gov by clicking on the parks department and going to online registration. We have a limit of 96 tickets for sale per seating. Tables only seat 8, so if you want to request to sit with certain individuals please inform the Park’s office when you call.
